About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in estimating HVAC and ventilation systems for commercial or residential projects. You'll play a key part in preparing competitive, accurate cost estimates that help us secure and deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for HVAC, AC, and ventilation systems. Accurately interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Use Ensign, PDF Take-Off, or similar estimating software to measure and quantify mechanical systems. Source, request, and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations. Develop bills of quantities and detailed scope of works. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify technical requirements and specifications. Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings when required. Support value engineering activities and offer cost-effective solutions. Ensure estimates comply with industry standards and client expectations. Maintain and update pricing databases and historical project cost data. Prepare clear, professional tender submissions and presentations.

About You

? Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, ideally with AC and ventilation systems.

? Proficiency in Ensign, PDF Take-Off, or similar mechanical estimating software -- essential.

? Strong understanding of HVAC, ductwork, pipework, and mechanical building services.

? Excellent numeracy and attention to detail.

? Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.

? Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and specifications.

? Confident communicator with good negotiation skills.

? Able to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

? Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar (desirable but not essential).
