Job Description

IRS Recruitment are currently seeking Mechanical Field Engineers to join a specialist cleaning team working across Energy from Waste and Biomass Power Plants in the UK and Ireland areas.
Field Service Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Salary: 37,500 + allowances + benefits
Location: Northeast and Nationwide Travel
Our client is expanding their industrial services and are currently resourcing experienced Mechanical Fitter / Service Engineers to bolster their nationwide field service team.
The Role
- Servicing and repairing Shockwave Pulse Generators
- Planned maintenance and unplanned breakdown repairs where required.
- Occasional work on high-temperature camera inspections
- Working away from home where required (Expenses paid)
- Base location: Northeast of England
Are you:
- Time-served apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical engineering discipline
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Experience with mechanical fitting, installation, seals, and component tolerances
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, method statements and risk assessments
- Basic IT skills (MS Word/Excel)
- Full UK driving licence
Skills:
- Experience in power stations/industrial boilers
- CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
- Basic electrical knowledge (PLCs, relays, solenoids)
- Understanding of high-pressure gases and safety implications
