Morson are looking to recruit Mechanical fitters to join the team on behalf of our client in Barrow . These contracts are initially 12 months with a strong likelihood of extension Summary of the role:
Installation of mechanical systems, components and equipment on vessels.
Must be a time served Mechanical Fitter with an apprenticeship cert. Experience of submarine /shipbuilding construction would be an advantage.
What your working day looks like:
Work safely at all times, complying with Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
Follow the relevant instructions, drawings and any other Quality Standards/specifications.
Use the appropriate methods and techniques to manufacturer and install mechanical systems and ancillary equipment.
Check the completed activity to ensure that all operations have been completed to meet the required Quality Standards/specification.
Use associated tools and equipment safely and effectively
Skills needed for this role:
Reading / understanding technical drawings
Working to Datum
working to imperial measurements
Understanding of shock clearance requirements
Understanding of ripout process and procedures
Test path walking
Use of jib cranes
Use of pedestal drills
Use of bench grinders
Use of bandsaw
Shifts can vary.
