Job Overview



As a

Mechanical Fitter

at LCM, you'll play a key role in the assembly, fitting, and installation of mechanical systems, machinery, and automated equipment. You'll work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications to ensure that each assembly meets the highest standards of performance and quality.

Key Responsibilities



Assemble and fit mechanical components, systems, and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications Perform alignment, fitting, and adjustment of mechanical assemblies Work closely with engineers and machinists to resolve fitting or design issues Inspect components and assemblies for dimensional accuracy and quality compliance Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely and effectively Assist with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automated machinery on-site when required Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

Requirements



Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Assembly Technician in a precision engineering or automated manufacturing environment Strong understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, and assembly techniques Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical schematics Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred but not essential) Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, or automated systems (preferred but not essential)
