This is not a basic assembly role -- we're looking for skilled fitters capable of interpreting drawings, fitting and adjusting components, and carrying out precision mechanical build work on complex machinery. You'll be working as part of a team responsible for the mechanical construction and alignment of bespoke machines and production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and fit mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies from engineering drawings and schematics
Adjust, align, and fit components to ensure correct operation and tolerances
Use hand and power tools to carry out fitting, drilling, and minor modifications as needed
Work to close tolerances in a workshop or site-based environment
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve build or fit-up issues
Ensure all work is carried out safely and to specification
Requirements:
Proven experience as a
Mechanical Fitter
(machine building, special purpose machinery, or similar)
Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings
Strong mechanical fitting, alignment, and problem-solving skills
Own tools and PPE preferred
CSCS or equivalent card desirable
Able to work independently and as part of a team
