: Mechanical Fitter - Piping / Process Plant

Salary: 38,000 per annum (paid monthly)

Hours: Permanent days, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Location: Cheddleton, Leek, Staffordshire

Job Summary

Powerpoint Engineering Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team, supporting installation, maintenance, and mechanical assembly activities within a chemical processing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical fitting skills, particularly around pipework, pumps, valves, and process equipment. Experience working from technical drawings and carrying out site-based installation work is essential.

Key Duties:

Mechanical installation of pipework, pumps, valves, and process plant equipment, assembly, alignment, and fitting of mechanical components Supporting welding and fabrication teams with mechanical preparation and final fit-up.

Working from P&IDs, isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks.

Installation and replacement of gaskets, seals, supports, and brackets Use of hand tools and workshop equipment for cutting, drilling, and mechanical preparation.

Assisting with site installation activities, including equipment positioning and bolting. Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard in line with company and site Health & Safety requirements

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a process, chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pipework, pumps, and valves

Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and installation specifications

Experience working both in workshop and site environments

Competent with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly equipment

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
