Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and maintaining metal components using a variety of tools and welding techniques. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in fabrication to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.

Duties

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise assembly and fabrication. Use TIG welding and other welding techniques to join metal parts accurately and securely. Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal components. Perform mechanical assembly tasks, ensuring all parts meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct routine inspections of fabricated components for defects or inconsistencies. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Assist with the installation and maintenance of fabricated structures as required.

Experience

Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication processes related to sheet metal work. Solid mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and perform basic maths calculations. Experience in assembly work within a manufacturing or workshop environment is desirable. Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding, fabrication, and machinery operation is essential. Previous experience working with sheet metal materials is advantageous but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn.
