Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining various mechanical components using a range of tools including turning and machining if required . This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in general mechanical repairs, particularly pump, gearbox and general conveyor repairs. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills within a dynamic industrial environment.

Duties

Use hand tools, power tools, and general machining and turning equipment. Conduct routine inspections of conveyors and general factory parts to ensure quality standards are met. Inspection and repair of general mechanical systems, ensuring proper alignment and fit of components. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot mechanical issues and optimise production processes. Support ongoing maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment as required.

Skills

Proficiency in Mechanical Fitting and Turning . Experience with hand tools, power tools etc. Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to maintain general production machines , conveyors etc Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks. Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills.
