Mechanical Fitter
Location- Widnes
Salary: 42,000 - 44,000 per year (with scope for pay rise based on performance)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Double Days (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer in Widnes who are looking to add an experienced Mechanical Fitter to their engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business that invests heavily in staff development and training.

Responsibilities:

• Repairing and maintaining a wide range of equipment including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic valves & equipment
• Fabrication of parts for the plant and carrying out welding tasks (MIG & Stick welding)
• Working to tight tolerances and accurately setting up machinery, including moulds and tampers
• Supporting continuous improvement and ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and quality

What We're Looking For:

• Ideally NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong background in mechanical maintenance/fitting
• Ability to MIG and Stick weld - a competent welder is highly advantageous
• Experience with hydraulics is an advantage
• Flexible, proactive, and a good team player
