An exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical fitter to join a diverse fast-moving company that is growing year on year. MattressTek's continued growth provides excellent opportunities for promotion and development of its employees.

The company designs, manufactures, builds, tests and installs a large catalogue of automated machinery to service the mattress production industry all over the world.

Job role:

As the machines built by MattressTek are built to order, and many are bespoke, there is no traditional assembly line. This means that our fitters are not expected to repeat a single engineering operation, denying their ability to develop, but instead take part in the entire process as part of a team under expert instruction and guidance.

Key skills:

Ability to read and understand mechanical detail and assembly drawings.

Ability to carry out mechanical fitting, including knowledge of bearings, keys, motors, machine guards, chain and belt drives, linear components, pneumatics and other such mechanical components to a high standard.

Proactive, diligent and with an eye for detail.

Overtime:

Overtime is currently being offered on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. This is likely to continue for the foreseeable.

Travel:

Although not compulsory, the right candidate will have the opportunity to volunteer to take part in the installation of machinery, both in the UK and abroad (particularly the United States).

Very competitive pay dependant on skill level.
