Job Description

CJS Precision Engineering Ltd is a family owned business which has been established on the Ferndown Industrial Estate for over 35 years.

Due to an increasing workload we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector.

The Role

You will be responsible for performing dimensional inspections - including First Offs, Patrol and Batch Inspections on manufactured precision components, ensuring that parts meet their exacting standards.

This is a hands-on position within a machine shop environment, working directly from engineering drawings in conjunction with detailed Planning/Route Cards and using a range of precision measuring tools, including an Aberlink Axiom too CMM.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect precision machined components and assemblies. Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings. Use a range of measuring equipment accurately and efficiently. Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and management to resolve quality issues. Support and maintain the company quality control systems and standards.
Skills & Experience

Previous experience inspecting high precision machined components is

essential

. Very strong understanding of engineering drawings. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A team player with ambition, drive, and strong attention to detail. Experience with CMM inspection, running and Programming. (Training is available for Axiom CMM)
