OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB



Service M/C tools in line with production requirements and service schedules

To rectify faults where possible & report serious problems to maintenance supervisor

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Carry out preventative maintenance of M/C tool

Use of hand tools (Saw, file, drills etc)

Sound knowledge of M/C tools

Manufacture of simple jigs & fixtures

Ability to weld MMA, MIG & Braze (desirable)

Basic plumbing/air line fitting

Pressure test & record test flange register

Collect & Record chemical/paint waste

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB



General knowledge of mechanical engineering

2 years minimum experience

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PEOPLE



Responsible for self and peers only.

ANALYTICAL REQUIREMENTS



Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems, follow/complete service schedule

Knowledge of machines within factories

Read/use/understand engineering drawings

Understand health & safety

Basic computer knowledge

Moderately complex information, vernia calliper used occasionally

MANUAL SKILLS



Repairs to machine/equipment

Preventative maintenance

Operate fork lift truck

Use of hand tools & Measuring equipment

Welding using MMA, MIG & Braze

Operate M/C tools, Cut off saw

Lathe

Drill

Mill

Bench grinder

Hand grinder

All frequent use of skills.

PHYSICAL EFFORT



Frequent pushing of heavy tool kits often between factories

Rodding of drains

Lots of walking on site

Considerable use of ladders & steps

Manual handling of heavy parts/materials

WORKING CONDITIONS



PPE required permanently in main works, hat, eye protection, boots, ear protection, clothing and safety harness as required.

Working areas covers both factory and outdoor working & at heights

The ideal candidate would have an interest or hobbies that include DIY/Car maintenance or refurbishment etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.00-14.25 per hour
