Role Overview:



The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for the precise assembly of prefabricated mechanical systems, including pipework modules, plantroom skids, valve assemblies, and related equipment. Working from technical drawings and fabrication plans, they ensure that all components are accurately fitted, aligned, and prepared for dispatch to site. This role is critical in delivering high-quality, ready-to-install systems on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:



Interpret and work from isometric drawings, general arrangement (GA) layouts, and fabrication schedules. Assemble pipework, brackets, valves, pumps, strainers, and other mechanical components to exact tolerances. Mark out, drill, tap, and install supports and fixings as required. Use appropriate hand and power tools to carry out cutting, fitting, and minor adjustments. Ensure all assemblies meet dimensional, functional, and quality requirements before handover to QA. Identify and report design issues, clashes, or material discrepancies. Work collaboratively with welders, pipe cutters, QA staff, and logistics to maintain smooth production flow. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment in accordance with H&S standards. Adhere to workshop procedures, productivity targets, and material handling protocols.

Required Skills & Experience:



Proven experience as a mechanical fitter in a fabrication or MEP environment (prefabrication experience preferred). Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including isometrics and schematics. Competent in the use of mechanical tools and machinery (e.g. drills, grinders, torque wrenches). Good understanding of mechanical systems, fittings, and materials (e.g. steel, copper, press-fit, grooved). Attention to detail, methodical work approach, and commitment to quality. Basic understanding of QA processes and tolerance checking. Ability to work independently or as part of a team under time constraints.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 160.00-190.00 per day
