As a Mechanical Pipe Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of pumping equipment across various industries. Your expertise in mechanical fitting and pipe fitting will be essential in delivering high-quality services to our clients nationwide. This position requires a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent customer service to meet and exceed our clients' expectations.


Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair pumping equipment, including centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, and associated piping systems Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements and develop installation plans Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of equipment Perform pipe fitting tasks, including measuring, cutting, threading, and welding pipes to precise specifications Install and align pumps, motors, and other mechanical components according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with pumping systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions Conduct preventive maintenance on pumping equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity Prepare detailed reports on installation, maintenance, and repair activities, including recommendations for system improvements Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and other technicians, to ensure successful project completion Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety in the workplace Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in pumping systems and pipe fitting Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials required for job sites Respond to emergency service calls and provide on-call support as needed

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical fitting and pipe fitting, preferably in industrial settings Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics Strong knowledge of pumping systems, including centrifugal and positive displacement pumps Expertise in pipe fitting techniques, including measuring, cutting, threading, and welding Familiarity with various piping materials and their applications Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment related to pipe fitting and mechanical work Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in challenging situations Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Valid driver's license and clean driving record
