The Role





As a Mechanical Piping Designer, you will play a key role in supporting our Mechanical Engineering team, contributing to a wide range of projects across the UK's onshore process sectors. These include chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, and food & beverage industries.



You'll be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical and piping design deliverables, working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project execution. This role is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits as required.

Duties and Responsibilities




Create and update mechanical and piping drawings using Autodesk software (Plant 3D). Interpret engineering specifications and client requirements to produce accurate design documentation. Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated and clash-free designs. Assist in the preparation of bills of materials and technical documentation. Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into design updates. Support construction and commissioning teams with design-related queries. Ensure all design work complies with relevant industry standards and project specifications.

Experience Required





We're looking for someone who brings:


A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience in mechanical and piping design within sectors such as petrochemical, chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, or food & beverage. Proficiency in Autodesk design tools, particularly Plant 3D. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to attend client sites for surveys and design coordination.
