Overview


------------

As a Senior Marine Piping Designer every day at Expleo will be out of the ordinary and will require you to be dynamic and responsive to changes in technology, innovation, and client requirements.


We are seeking a skilled Marine Piping Designer with hands-on experience in shipyard environments to join our engineering team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and modelling piping systems for marine vessels, ensuring seamless integration with other disciplines such as structural, HVAC, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

3D Pipe Modelling & Routing:




Develop and maintain detailed 3D models of piping systems using CAD software (e.g., FORAN, NUPAS CADMATIC, AVEVA Marine, AutoCAD 3D, ShipConstructor, or similar).


Perform pipe routing based on design specifications, space constraints, and classification society requirements.

Design & Documentation:




Create and review piping layouts, isometric drawings, and bill of materials.


Ensure compliance with marine standards and regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register).

Interdisciplinary Coordination:




Collaborate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC teams to ensure proper integration of piping systems.


Resolve clashes and interface issues using clash detection tools and interdisciplinary reviews.

Shipyard Support:




Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.


Conduct site visits for inspections, troubleshooting, and design validation.

Quality & Compliance:




Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and operational standards.


Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.


Qualifications


------------------

Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Naval Engineering) or related field, or equivalent experience in the naval and /or commercial ship design, construction, or maintenance domain.

Essential skills


--------------------

Proficiency in 3D CAD software and piping design tools. Strong understanding of marine systems and shipbuilding processes. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with classification society rules and documentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Desired skills


------------------

Experience of working in multi-company and engineering discipline teams with an ability to communicate effectively. Experience in a technical consulting environment, leading and/or supporting multiple engineering projects & customers. Solidworks
