Must have a strong background in running pipefitters, welders, riggers and other trades personnel on in the Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas or similar industry. To hold good communicative skills with line management and clients. A sound understanding of safety in the workplace is imperative. A strong background / understanding of lifting operations would be beneficial.
The successful Site Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of multiple trades personnel to deliver complex client projects and plant modifications on various client sites safely and with commercial benefit to the company.
Duties & Responsibilities
To supervise and control all Company Operations onsite activities & liase with the Operations Manager & CAD Project Manager for all site fabrication requirements.
Supervise & direct the site workforce as shown on the organization chart.
To ensure that compliance with the Health and Safety Act, the clients site safety requirements and Puma Safety Management System (SMS) is met in the workplace.
To support the head office when required in supplying the relevant information in order to complete the writing of all safety plans, method statements, task risk assessments and lift plans for the work to be undertaken onsite.
To ensure all permits to work are in place with all associated safety documentation before work commences. Communicating all of the safety information to your fellow workers before work commences complete with obtaining the relevant signatures that the site team have fully understood the method statement, work scope and safety critical information.
To complete the client specific safety standards.
To undertake regular toolbox talks. Provide evidence / keep copies / records.
Ensure weekly timesheets for payroll purposes are submitted on Mondays of each week for the week previously worked.
To ensure all operatives arrive onsite and leave the site to meet the companies normal working hours.
To assist in the procurement of materials and hiring of all plant and equipment as required through our Procurement Department.
To communicate with all sub-contract companies as required to include scaffolding, craneage, transport and any others required to complete our site contracts.
liaising with the Site Operations Manager and Storeman to ensure that materials and consumables are available to the relevant trades personnel.
Support the Site Operations Manager in controlling the workforce productivity, ensuring project programs are met.
To ensure that all subordinates adhere to Company procedures and management systems.
Maintain and uphold all Company disciplinary standards.
Ensure all site work has a "Project Completion Sign Off".
To regularly communicate with the Site Operations Manager & head office in order to discuss the project programme and any upcoming requirements onsite. This may require attending the head office at the commencement of the day so that the office can support your site requirements as and when required.
Any training requirements in order for you to fully understand this Supervisory role will be discussed and undertaken as and when required.
Commercial
Maintain daily records of manpower tasks and get daywork sheets signed by the client at the end of each working week when required.
To ensure that all additional works are captured using the CVI procedure and where possible costs / PO is placed or acknowledged before committing Puma Engineering resources.
Agreeing progress percentages with the Client in order to confirm end of month invoice amounts.
A Supervisors hand book will be provided for you and kept in your van. The required training will be provided.
Site hours normally consist of overtime working.
10 hour days locally and 12 hour days when working away or on shutdowns.
When working away Puma will provide suitable accommodation (Hotel including breakfast) and 35.00 Evening Meal Allowance. Site hours will be 12hr days (8hrs at normal rate and 4hrs weekday overtime) including all travelling time from Puma workshop.
A sound understanding, working knowledge and experience with the following industry codes and standards is desired.

38 Hours Flat Time = 23.60 per hour
Weekday Overtime = 35.40 per hour
Saturday Overtime = 35.40 per hour
Sunday Overtime = 40.12 per hour
We are looking for a driven and proactive Hands-on Trades Supervisor to join our site installation team. You will plan, direct and manage the site trades personnel on the safe execution of contracts on petrochemical, oil and gas and fuel storage sites. Develop strategies and innovation for ensuring efficient and profitable operational delivery.
