Duration: Ongoing (initial contract)
Rate:
Mechanical Supervisor - 300 per day (Outside IR35)
Mechanical Fitters - 280 per day (Outside IR35)
Sector: Water / Utilities / AMP8
Overview
Our client is delivering a major clean water infrastructure project in the Colchester area and is looking to strengthen the team with an experienced Mechanical Supervisor and two Mechanical Fitters.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term framework within the water sector, working on the installation, testing, and commissioning of clean water process plant and equipment.
Mechanical Supervisor - Responsibilities
Supervise all mechanical installation activities on site.
Ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification.
Coordinate daily activities of mechanical fitters and subcontractors.
Conduct toolbox talks and ensure compliance with site safety procedures.
Liaise with site management and engineering teams to plan and sequence works effectively.
Support testing, pre-commissioning, and mechanical completion documentation.
Requirements:
SSSTS or SMSTS
CSCS Card
Confined Spaces (desirable)
Proven background in mechanical supervision on clean/wastewater sites
Strong knowledge of pumps, pipework, valves, and associated process plant
Mechanical Fitters - Responsibilities
Install mechanical plant, equipment, and pipework on a clean water site.
Assist with pressure testing, alignment, and commissioning activities.
Interpret drawings and install to design specifications.
Work efficiently under supervision while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Requirements:
CSCS Card (JIB PHMES or equivalent preferred)
Confined Spaces (desirable)
Experience within the clean or wastewater sector
Own tools and PPE
Reliable, team-oriented, and quality-driven
