Job Overview:



We are seeking a

highly skilled and detail-oriented Precision Mechanical/Electrical Fitter

to join our growing team. This role is central to the assembly, calibration, and service of our high-precision rotary tables and inspection systems. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background with a good level of electrical competency, a keen eye for detail, and a methodical approach to precision assembly work.

The role includes both workshop-based tasks in Bath and global travel to install, service, repair, and calibrate equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:



Precision mechanical assembly of rotary tables and inspection systems to exacting tolerances. Electrical wiring, integration, and basic fault-finding during product assembly. Calibration of finished products to meet ISO and internal quality standards. Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and prepare equipment for dispatch. Travel globally to install, commission, service, and calibrate RPI systems at customer sites. Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical faults both in-house and in the field. Liaise with engineering and quality teams to feedback on production and product improvements. Maintain detailed service and calibration records in accordance with quality standards. Adhere to health and safety and quality assurance processes.

Essential Skills and Experience:



Proven experience in a precision mechanical fitter or multi-skilled fitter role within a low-volume, high-quality manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working to tight tolerances. Basic electrical knowledge (e.g., wiring, use of test equipment, fault-finding). Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and wiring diagrams. Experience with calibration of mechanical systems to defined standards. Good communication skills and professional demeanour, especially for customer-facing situations. Willingness and ability to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice. Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications and Attributes:



Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (e.g., NVQ, HNC, City & Guilds). Previous experience working in the aerospace, metrology, or precision engineering sectors. Experience in ISO 10360 or similar calibration standards. Familiarity with CNC systems and control interfaces. Clean UK driving licence and valid passport.
