Job Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Media Officer to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing media strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement across various platforms. The Media Officer will play a key role in developing compelling content, analysing media performance, and supporting strategic initiatives through effective communication and organisational skills.

In addition to assist the Assistant County Secretary with the day to day running of Essex Golf to ensure the efficient management. To help ensure that events, functions, competitions and championships run efficiently and professionally in accordance with WHS and the Rules of Golf. Working days and hours are generally in line with opening hours of the County office and include some evening and early morning weekend responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of meetings and championships as required. Office hours are generally 9 till 5pm which includes 1 hour for lunch.

County Secretary, Assistant County Secretary, Marketing & Communications Director and the Committee

Qualifications



Proven proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data from various sources effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; IT literacy is essential. Competent levels of knowledge in using iOS computer systems & Golf Club Software, Intelligent Golf & WHS platform is beneficial Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective time management skills to meet tight deadlines consistently. Strong interpersonal skills enabling clear communication across diverse team.

Duties



Develop and execute comprehensive media plans aligned with organisational objectives. Manage content creation for digital and print media, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging. Oversee social media channels, maintaining active engagement and timely responses. Monitor industry trends and analyse competitor activities to identify opportunities for media outreach. Lead projects related to marketing campaigns, ensuring timely delivery within set deadlines through effective project management. Maintain organisational records of media activities, schedules, and performance reports. Foster strong communication channels within the team to ensure cohesive execution of media strategies.

Specific Responsibilities



Managing of the EGL Website which includes the Diary pages and Match Fixtures throughout the year. Assisting in the administration activities & preparation necessary to ensure the smooth running of EGL Championships and Club Team Knock Out Competitions. Assisting in running events on the Championship Calendar where required, some weekends may be required. Where weekend work is required, days off will be offered in lieu. Ensuring all written reports and results are collected from Team Managers for County Match fixtures by utilising various platforms including Intelligent Golf, email and established WhatsApp groups where required. These reports should include images useable on the website, social media platforms and publications and must be supplied by agreed deadlines. Communicating with already established third party organisations such as BBC Radio Essex & developing additional relationships with organisations & publishers with the aim to provide suitable material for publication.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 27,000.00-32,000.00 per year
