From film to digital, your expertise will guide learners through hands-on projects and dynamic lessons. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Creative Industries Department as a Media Teacher on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis, based at City Campus and Harpurhey.

We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between 28,300.00 - 30,307.50*. It's a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you've successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you'll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.



Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience





To be successful in this role, you will need:


Certificate of education or PGCE Current and valid industry specialism Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation) Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above Proven track record of high-quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism Professional experience in Creative Media or digital design, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects. A demonstrable track record of effective teaching and delivery of Creative Media to post 16 students. Knowledge and experience of working with a range of vocational awarding bodies and the internal verification process. Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud. Working as a team Verbal and written communication skills Meet delivery targets and plans Accurate and timely reports and records Positive contribution to planning processes

What you'll do:




Deliver high-quality, practical and theory-based sessions in creative media production, including areas like film, video editing, audio, and digital design. Support students in building strong technical skills and professional behaviours. Guide learners through projects, coursework and assessments, helping them to explore their creativity and develop industry-ready portfolios. Contribute to the planning and development of an exciting curriculum that reflects the ever-evolving media landscape.

What we're looking for:




A confident communicator experienced in working in a further education setting and with a demonstrable knowledge around delivering high quality, learner-focused education. Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects) and current media production practices. A passion for nurturing talent and helping young people succeed, fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration in order for students to succeed.
