Permanent 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm, term time only

Ruthin School, is a prestigious independent school with a strong reputation for academic excellence, pastoral care and the wellbeing of its pupils is seeking. We are seeking a compassionate, highly organised Medical Centre Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operation of the school's Medical Centre and to provide high-quality medical and pastoral support to pupils.
This is a key role within the school's pastoral structure, requiring professionalism, discretion and a calm, caring approach in a busy and rewarding environment.
Although this is a full time role, part time applications will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
To provide a confidential health advice service as appropriate.
To provide first aid for pupils (and staff in emergencies) as necessary
To manage the reception of visitors to the Medical Centre, answering the phone, arranging appointments.
Maintaining the Medical Centre's records, stores and provide general support with the day to day running of the Centre.
To maintain medical records accurately, confidentially and safely (including those of boarders); ensuring the records are accurate, up to date and stored appropriately.
Maintain regular communication with Office and Boarding Staff
Maintain stocks and supplies for the Medical Room.
Person Specification:
Essential
Level 3 Child Protection training or willing to obtain
First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid or willing to obtain
Experience of working with teenage students
Experience working in a school, care home or similar environment
Experience providing practical care and emotional support
Experience using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel etc
The ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) to a variety of audiences
An understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection
Ability to manage difficult situations
A proactive and adaptable approach with a 'can-do' attitude
Calm, warm, friendly and professional manner
Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise effectively
Professional courteous in dealings with students, parents and colleagues
Desirable
Relevant medical qualification
Relevant experience in a medical setting
Knowledge of national boarding regulations.
