Medical Receptionist

Eastleigh, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

St Andrew's Surgery is a busy and expanding GP practice located in Eastleigh, committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our welcoming reception team.

We offer flexibility in working days, with the requirement that candidates are available on Wednesdays. The role involves working a minimum of 20 hours per week, with shifts starting at 8:00am or finishing at 6:30pm. A combination of morning and afternoon shifts is likely, and specific working patterns can be discussed during the interview process.

If you are a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting patients in a healthcare setting, we would love to hear from you.

Previous experience in a GP surgery would be fantastic but it's not essential as full training will be provided. Our biggest priority is finding some one who is passionate about providing an outstanding service, is dedicated to working efficiently and is professional, fun and friendly!

As the first point of contact for most of the interactions between the surgery and our patients it is a role requiring empathy, resilience in pressurised or difficult situations and a can do attitude. If you possess those then we will give you the other necessary skills and knowledge to become part of our team in a hugely rewarding role. In return we offer a very competitive remuneration package which includes access to the NHS pension scheme.

Our team of receptionist/administrators carry out much of the behind the scenes work of General Practice. Whether it be booking appointments, registering new patients, processing repeat medications or actioning all the information received from hospitals it is a varied role where no 2 days are the same. It is a busy environment, always with something to do, and would suit someone who works really well in a team and is also task focused to complete whichever job they are assigned. We are predominantly looking for a candidate to be available for morning or afternoons/evenings, or a mix of both and we will work with the successful candidate to find shifts that meet both their needs and those of the practice.

The successful candidate would need to be able to work across either of our central Eastleigh sites, depending on requirements.

Interviews will take place the w/c 6th October
