The post-holder will be responsible for reception duties within our busy medical Practice to efficiently and sensitively deal with the needs of our patients. The successful applicant will work as part of a patient focused team to provide high quality administrative and clerical support to the GPs and the rest of our healthcare team, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
Responsibilities:
Greeting and dealing with patients at Reception in a courteous manner.
Answering the telephone and dealing with requests for appointments, home visits and prescriptions, in line with Practice protocols.
Liaising with GPs, Nurses and other Practice staff to ensure the smooth flow of communication.
Operating and maintaining the practice computerised records and appointment system.
Ensure strict confidentiality at all times.
Skills and Qualifications:
5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above.
Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
The ability to work well under pressure.
Both the ability to work as part of a team and to use own initiative.
Desirable Skills:
Experience of working in a GP Practice or other healthcare setting.
Experience of EMIS Web clinical system.
Previous experience of clinical read coding.
