The post holder will work as part of a team to provide high quality administrative and clerical support to GP's and other health care professionals. The post holder will be expected to deal efficiently and sensitively with the needs of the patients, while ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities:
Reception and direction of patients at the front reception desk and within the Heath Centre.
Answering the telephone and dealing with requests for appointments, home visits, requests for acute and repeat prescriptions. Processing prescriptions, scanning, dictation, read coding, registrations.
Data input, upkeep of computerised records and extraction of information as required.
Any daily routine office duties/secretarial duties required as specified by a Senior Medical receptionist, Practice Manager or GP to meet the needs of the service.
Essential Skills/Qualifications
5 GCSE's (Grade A-C) including English and Maths or equivalent
Excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work
Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Word Processing
Experience of working in a health care setting or GP Practice within the last 3 years
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of EMIS Web.
