Receptionist/Administrator
with strong customer service and administrative skills to join our supportive team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to train as a
General Practice Assistant (GPA)
, developing both administrative and clinical support skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a welcoming, efficient front-of-house service for patients and visitors.
Manage telephone calls, appointment bookings, and patient queries with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain accurate records and handle administrative tasks such as correspondence, data entry, and filing.
Support the wider practice team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Undertake training and development towards the General Practice Assistant qualification.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
? Experienced in customer service and administration (healthcare experience not required).
?Friendly, approachable, and professional.
? A clear and confident communicator, both face-to-face and over the phone.
? Highly organised, with good attention to detail.
? A natural problem solver, able to stay calm under pressure.
? Motivated to learn new skills and take on a developmental role.
Training & Development
As part of this role, you will complete accredited
General Practice Assistant (GPA)
training, supported by Abbots Bromley Surgery. This programme will build your knowledge and confidence in primary care and includes:
Understanding how a GP surgery operates and supports patient care.
Learning basic clinical skills such as taking blood pressure, measuring height and weight, and recording observations.
Developing practical administrative and clinical support skills, including:
Document triage - reviewing and directing incoming clinical correspondence.
Coding and summarising - accurately updating patient records.
Managing referrals - preparing, tracking, and coordinating patient referrals.
You'll be fully supported by experienced clinicians and administrative staff, with protected time for learning and hands-on experience.
