Working 22.5 hours a week, you will be responsible for providing confidential and efficient administrative support to Registered Clinicians and the medical team. From managing their diaries, planning meetings and arranging travel arrangements to drafting correspondence and updating records, you will be able to turn your hand to any admin related task.

As a Medical Secretary, you will work alongside Registered Clinicians, assisting with confidential paperwork, service user\'s records and GP letters. You will liaise with external agencies to get up-to-date information on service users and will take to lead in recording their blood test results.

Our Medical Secretary role involves:

  • To receive and record typing, checking and amending for spelling and grammatical errors, completing within given deadlines.
  • To provide a confidential and efficient secretarial and administrative service to the unit.
  • Maintain any records as may, from time to time, be specified to support tasks being carried out, or to allow monitoring of tasks.
  • Audio and copy typing all letters, memorandums, summaries and reports paying particular attention to accuracy and presentation
  • Maintaining an efficient process of entering correspondence on to the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system
  • Organise venues, accommodation and agendas for meetings.
  • To actively participate in maintaining the physical, relational; and procedural security to ensure the safety of all.
  • To attend meetings relevant to the department, and internal / external training events as and when required.
  • Taking minutes at Care Programme Approach meetings
To be successful in this role, you\'ll need:
  • Minimum 3 years\' secretarial and administrative experience, ideally gained within a high-profile commercial environment
  • OCR/RSA Stage 3 & ECDL or equivalent desirable
  • NVQ III Business Administration
  • Shorthand 100 wpm
  • 2 years\' experience specifically in a similar role
  • Shorthand/minute taking
  • Experience in audio typing
