Events Manager - Norfolk Arms Hotel
Are you an experienced Events Coordinator looking for your next challenge? At the Norfolk Arms Hotel, we're seeking a hands-on, people-focused Events Manager with a passion for sales and event organisation, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication and organisational skills.
About Us
The Norfolk Arms Hotel is a 4-star, 39-bedroom property offering guests a quintessentially British place to eat, drink, and stay. With elegant banqueting rooms for weddings and events of up to 90 people, plus The Norfolk Tap - Arundel's favourite craft beer and coffee shop - we're at the heart of Sussex hospitality.
This is not a desk job. It's a hands-on role where you'll be at the centre of the action, shaping the guest experience and delivering exceptional service.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide a professional service at all times when handling Meeting & Event enquiries.
Carry out show rounds/walk-ins for prospective and existing customers to help increase revenue.
Act as an ambassador for the Hotel and for Arundel, building strong local relationships.
Drive revenue opportunities through creative thinking, events, and marketing initiatives.
Assist with credit control and ensure correct billing procedures.
Support the operational team - from kitchen to reception - ensuring high standards of detail.
Conduct focused research using local knowledge, contacts, the internet, and social media platforms.
Co-ordinate function information for Christmas, Meetings, Conferences, Events, and Weddings, ensuring maximum sales and clear communication across all hotel departments.
Prepare function sheets and amendments, ensuring updates are communicated to relevant departments.
Deliver and manage high-quality customer care within the team to meet service requirements.
Ensure the team provides efficient service at all times in line with company standards.
Be fully conversant with and able to operate the hotel front office system.
Establish and maintain strict security procedures within your department, highlighting any potential risks.
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and external contractors.
What We're Looking For
At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Proven track record of increasing sales and guest satisfaction.
A professional, highly organised approach with an energetic and commercially astute attitude.
