Job Title: Mental Ambulance Ambulance Assistant
Duties:
Responsible for the care and safe transportation of mental health patients. Ensuring timely transportation to and from appointments, hospitals, treatment centres, day units or other places of care.
Requirements:
Be aware of and work to the principles of the Mental Health Act (MHA)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and service users.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in the field of mental health
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately. Observe, report and record changes in client physical, mental health and behaviour.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.
Drive allocated vehicles, usually an ambulance, as road traffic law dictates, in an appropriate manner and wirh due consideration for the safety and comfort of vehicle occupants. Undertake long distance journeys as requested.
Complete all patient journey records neatly and on time and hand the records to an authorised supervisor or desiganted collection point.
Attend as required essential training courses and complete esential online training packages in a timely manner.
Maintain a flexible approach to work patterns, which will include working weekends and Bank Holidays.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
