32500 - 40,000 PA (Depending on experience)

Hours:

37.5 Hours Per Week (Flexibility Required)
Monday to Friday (Out Of Hours) when needs arise

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner, whose professional background and training is underpinned by theories of working with trauma, attachment and loss. You will have good working knowledge in working with children and young people in the Care sector with a minimum of two years working with children in Residential Care. We are currently seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to cover our homes in Preston, Lancashire areas. However, commuting to our home in West Yorkshire required on occasion.

About the job:



Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's mental health needs and formulating individualized care plans. Experience of attending MTD Able to coordinate care plans for young people. Experience of improvement towards a therapy regime Risk Assessments, Complex Behavioural Support Providing therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy sessions, aimed at addressing emotional and behavioural difficulties. Collaborating with external agencies, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), to ensure a coordinated approach to care. Supporting and advising staff members on therapeutic strategies and techniques to enhance the overall well-being of children. Monitoring and evaluating the progress of therapeutic interventions and adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of therapeutic sessions and client progress. Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and training opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills. Experience in formulation and how to apply trauma informed interventions to young people living within residential homes. Knowledgeable within the Mental Health Act and Deprivation Of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and how to apply and work within these in a residential setting. To provide therapeutic training workshops to staff to promote residential workers into therapeutic residential workers.

Entry Requirements:



A relevant qualification in mental health, psychology, counselling, or a related field. Experience working collaboratively with CAMHS or other mental health professionals. Level 5 in Management or Equivalent is desirable. Previous experience working with children and young people in a therapeutic or mental health setting. In-depth knowledge of children's mental health issues and an understanding of trauma-informed care. Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), or Play Therapy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively. MH experience Positive behaviour management training/understanding. DOLS experience Neuro de-escalation experience Autism experience A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others. Life skills Be caring, compassionate, understanding and show patience. Be a team player, flexible, honest and reliable. Have a good sense of humour and not take things personally. Be confident and resilient. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations and Ofsted Requirements Computer literacy. A driving licence.
