Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing care and support to individuals, particularly children and those with disabilities. This role involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life through tailored support strategies, including applied behaviour analysis and patient care.

Duties

Provide direct support to children and individuals with autism or other disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Implement individualised care plans, using applied behaviour analysis techniques to promote positive behaviours and skills development. Assist with medication administration as required, ensuring compliance with health regulations and protocols. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction, independence, and personal growth. Maintain accurate records of client progress and communicate effectively with families and other professionals involved in the care process. Support clients in daily living tasks, fostering independence while providing necessary assistance. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and review care plans regularly.

Experience

Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is essential. Familiarity with applied behaviour analysis techniques is highly desirable. Experience in special education settings or roles involving patient care will be an advantage. A strong understanding of the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum is beneficial. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. A caring attitude combined with patience and resilience is crucial for success in this role.
