Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our Mental Health team at HMP Winchester, a category B Prison located in Winchester.
HMP Winchester is a very busy male prison with a capacity for 690 inmates. We are recruiting for a Mental Health Support Worker to support the Mental Health team with duties such as providing low intervention help, running bloods clinics, wellbeing check ins.
You will need to have previous experience within Mental Health.
Hours Monday - Friday
0800 - 1600
30 mins lunch break
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 31,789 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Assist the mental health team in the delivery of immediate and, where appropriate, ongoing care for patients referred to the mental health team.
  • You will be expected to support people to access care and treatment appropriately within the prison setting, working independently with lone working at times.
  • You will contribute to the positive and aspirational workings of the integrated mental health care team, ensuring that each and every patient is treated with care, respect and dignity.
  • The post holder will provide assistance with delivery of mental healthcare needs, within the Healthcare Department.
