proactive, commercially astute and technically driven MEP Contracts Manager
to join our growing Projects Department -- reporting directly to the
Projects Director, Managing Director and the Board
.
This is a pivotal role offering both leadership responsibility and the opportunity to shape the continued growth and development of our MEP division.
The Role
As an
MEP Contracts Manager
, you'll take full ownership of the management, coordination and successful delivery of projects -- from pre-construction to completion. You'll ensure health and safety excellence, drive project performance, and manage a talented team of engineers, quantity surveyors and site managers.
This is a hands-on leadership position where no two days are the same -- from negotiating tenders and liaising with clients to ensuring compliance, quality and profitability across multiple contracts.
Duties
Lead and manage MEP project delivery from planning through to completion.
Champion Health & Safety best practices across all stages of the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with internal departments to maintain a central point of communication and delivery.
Support the Pre-Construction Director with tenders, proposals and business development activities.
Oversee project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Supervisors and Subcontractors.
Develop and maintain a strong and sustainable supply chain.
Monitor project financials, including accurate monthly reporting and cost tracking.
Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and internal management systems.
Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
Regularly report progress, risks and outcomes to senior leadership and the Board.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation within project delivery and processes.
About You
We're looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and leadership skills.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience as an MEP Contracts Manager or similar role within building services or construction.
In-depth knowledge of
NEC and JCT Contracts
and Framework Agreements.
Strong understanding of
Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems
.
Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
Confident negotiator and client-facing professional.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
and digital project tools.
CSCS / ECS Card
(current).
Full UK driving licence with ability to travel to project sites.
Desirable:
Degree in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
