We're looking for a MEP Design Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based Plymouth.



KierBAM is a Joint Venture (JV) between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently delivering a major redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth.



Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.




Location

: Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth


Hours

: 42.5 hours per week

Responsibilities





As a MEP Design Manager, you'll be working within the KierBAM JV Nuclear team, supporting them in leading the coordination, development, and delivery of MEP design solutions for construction projects. This role involves managing design teams and consultants, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration with architectural and structural elements.



Your day to day will include:


Reviewing M&E requirements from project briefs, requirement statements, documentation and specifications during the feasibility phase; identify risk and opportunity Managing M&E Consultants and Contractors to ensure time, cost, quality, and safety requirements are met in full to support all project requirements across the Devonport programme of works; establish I&C phase budgets Managing the appointment of M&E Consultants and Contractors Managing M&E Consultants and Contractors performance to ensure innovative cost[1]effective solutions are determined, which also meet all necessary standards, specifications and best practice Chairing regular M&E forums with M&E staff and the supply chain

Proven experience in an M&E role within a main contractor Hold a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) Hold a CSCS Manager Card and SMSTS
