Thank you for taking the time to read about Carbon Synergy's new MEP opportunities!
Carbon Synergy is a growing HVAC and electrical contractor based in Hull. They specialise in energy-efficient mechanical and electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Their work spans care homes, retail outlets, and large-scale developments.
Carbon Synergy understand that it is the people that make their organisation, and they are passionate about putting people first, they believe in development and upskilling their workforce.
They're now looking for 2 new members to join their MEP team, one electrical, and one mechanical.
You might be a great fit if...
If you're currently working in a HVAC mechanical role and are looking for a close-knit team as opposed to being one of hundreds
You're a recent graduate with studies in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (with a HVAC focus)
You have some engineering / electrical/ mechanical experience - so transferable skills and you're just starting out in the MEP field
Whilst having experience using CAD would be a plus, we are open to talking to candidates who are quick to pick up new systems, however what isn't negotiable is that you must be an Excel expert! Spreadsheets and the manipulation of the same are a key element of this role!
What might a typical day look like?
As you'll be joining a small close-knit team, there'll be lots to get involved with. However, the main responsibilities will lie within supporting the Design & Estimation team, and also in CAD related tasks. Some of the things you might get up to in a typical day could include;
Catching up with the team and finding out if there is anything urgent project wise that you might need to help with
Designing heating, plumbing and HVAC systems ranging from retail outlets to multi bedroomed care facilities
Working with CAD drawings, putting together layouts, adding annotations, integrating line sketches into drawings
Maintaining SoR pricing on templates to ensure they are up to date and accurate
Pulling together estimations for mechanical services and preparing tender submissions
Identifying any potential clashes on CAD drawings, and coordinating with the team to ensure the projects run smoothly
Maintaining prebuilds on their systems (simPRO & Groundplan), in line with client specifications
This is just a brief list of what you might be getting up to in this role, we can provide a more detailed job description further into the recruitment process. But at this stage we are just looking for someone who is keen to join a small team, willing to learn with fantastic attention to detail and who loves working with numbers!
So, if you
Are technically minded, and know MS Excel inside out and back to front
Consider yourself to have excellent attention to detail
Love working with numbers and are able to use your own initiative
Have a good understanding of AutoCAD
Eager to work for a growing organisation that's forward thinking and locally rooted
