We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Quantity Surveyor to join my clients dynamic team in St Albans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to construction and civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget. You will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of projects, providing essential support to project managers and clients.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
Monitor project costs and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects.
Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure accurate project specifications.
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Provide regular reports on project progress and financial status to stakeholders.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible terms.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
Proven experience as a MEP Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
A professional qualification such as RICS chartership would be an advantage but is not mandatory.
