Job Description

Role Overview:

As a Metering Specialist, you will be responsible for managing new connections, metering, renewable energy solutions and related products for an existing portfolio of clients. Your primary goal will be to support our account management teams with all metering related projects and queries. Including but not limited to, new connections, smart meter installations, meter upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:?Build strong and lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet their energy requirements.

Project Management & Coordination

Lead and manage metering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met. Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, billing, data analytics) to align metering activities with broader utility operations. Oversee third-party suppliers, metering service providers, and contractors, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary point of contact for metering vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts, track service-level agreements (SLAs), and manage ongoing supplier relationships. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to communicate project status, address concerns, and gather requirements. Ensure all metering activities comply with industry regulations and internal policies. Support regulatory audits and reporting, including maintaining documentation and compliance logs.
Process Improvement & Documentation

Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to metering processes and supplier interactions. Identify inefficiencies or gaps in current processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with departments such as account management, billing, finance and sales to align metering operations with business needs. Participate in internal working groups or cross-departmental initiatives related to metering programs.
Technical Oversight & Expertise

Provide subject matter expertise on metering technologies, industry standards, and market trends. Support internal training and development initiatives to enhance understanding of metering processes across the organisation.
Risk Management

Proactively identify project or operational risks related to metering and develop mitigation strategies. Maintain a risk register and report emerging issues to project or senior management.
