Warehouse MHE Driver
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our warehouse team as a Warehouse MHE / FLT Driver. This pivotal role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent material handling equipment (MHE) proficiency. Experience in managing and controlling inventory would also be highly advantageous. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, maintaining accurate stock records, and optimizing warehouse efficiency.
NB: You will need an in-date Counter Balance Licence as a minimum to apply for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
MHE Operation:
Safely and efficiently operate various Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including, but not limited to, Counterbalance Forklifts, Reach Trucks, Pallet Trucks, and VNA (if applicable).
Load and unload vehicles, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
Move, stack, and organize products within the warehouse.
Conduct daily pre-shift checks on MHE and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
Warehouse Operations:
Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently according to pick lists.
Assist with goods in, checking deliveries against purchase orders, and reporting discrepancies.
Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring correct documentation and labelling.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
Required Skills & Experience:
Essential:
Valid and in-date licenses for Counterbalance.
Daily use of HHT / Warehouse Scanner.
Proven experience (minimum 2 years) operating MHE in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including goods in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to lift and move heavy items safely where required, with the use of MHE when required.
Adherence to health and safety procedures and regulations.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Valid and in-date license for Aislemaster or Bendi truck. (VNA or Reach Truck)
Stock counting, reconciliation and use of a Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar inventory software.
Experience with barcode scanning systems.
Knowledge of lean principles in a warehouse setting.
First Aid certification.
