We are seeking a skilled and technically adept Pre-Sales Engineer to join a
growing UK Microsoft team
. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business development, supporting the sales process by
designing compelling Microsoft-based solutions
for our prospective clients.
You will collaborate with our sales teams, architects, and consultants to translate client needs into impactful technical propositions centred on the Microsoft ecosystem--including Copilot, Power Platform, Azure, and Dynamics 365.
Globally, Microsoft is one of our fastest growing offerings and we have flourishing Microsoft practices in Ireland, Germany, and elsewhere.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Shaping
: Assess client pain points to understand business challenges and shape tailored Microsoft technology solutions that demonstrate real business value.
Technical Validation
: Collaborate with architects and consultants to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and in line with delivery best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
: Communicate technical aspects of the solution clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, aligned to the real business outcomes.
Solution Scoping & Estimation
: Work closely with architects and business development colleagues to define accurate cost and effort estimations for the solution implementation.
Value Proposition:
Concisely identify the pain points the solution solves and the business benefit it drives, to enable accurate marketing of the solution.
Proposal & Bid Support
: Contribute to RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and commercial documentation, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client requirements.
Demos & Presentations
: Design impactful demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concepts that showcase capabilities of the Microsoft ecosystem.
Internal Enablement
: Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and reusability by documenting solution patterns, reusable assets, and lessons learned.
Market & Product Awareness
: Stay current with developments in Microsoft technology and industry trends, helping to shape internal offerings and client propositions.
Professional Experience / Skills
Demonstrated experience in technical pre-sales within the Microsoft ecosystem, with a strong understanding of their offerings including Copilot, Power Platform, and Azure services.
Familiarity with solution architecture concepts, cloud infrastructure, security, and integration.
Ability to use client requirements and pain points to shape technology solutions into high-quality pre-sales collateral, such as proposals, estimates, proof of concepts, and demos.
Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Power Platform Functional Consultant, Azure Fundamentals, etc.) are beneficial.
Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical solutions to varied audiences, with experience in working alongside cross-functional teams to develop propositions.
A collaborative, proactive, and commercial mindset, with the ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities.
Desirable certifications: TOGAF, SAFe, PL-600: Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect.
