Bethnal Green | Special School | Early Years - KS1
Monday-Friday | 11:30-13:30
A specialist school in Bethnal Green is looking for a dependable Midday Assistant to support pupils across Early Years to KS1 during the lunchtime period. The role involves working with children who have a range of special educational needs, so confidence, patience, and a genuinely supportive approach are essential.
Role Overview:
Supervising pupils during lunch in the hall and outdoor areas Supporting children with a variety of needs, including communication, sensory, and physical needs Encouraging positive interaction and safe play Assisting with routines such as eating, moving between spaces, and managing transitions Helping maintain a calm, structured, and supportive lunchtime environment
What We're Looking For:
Experience in a special school or with SEN pupils
or
the confidence and willingness to learn A patient, observant, and adaptable approach Strong awareness of safeguarding Reliability and consistency -- especially important in a specialist settingHours:
11:30am - 1:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time)
