We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations within our organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, ensuring the organisation's financial health and integrity. This role requires a proactive approach, strong organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments. The Controller will play a vital part in supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining accurate financial records.
Duties
Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights into organisational performance
Oversee budgeting processes and monitor expenditure to ensure alignment with organisational goals
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies through regular audits and reviews
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions to optimise financial resources
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and facilitate the timely submission of tax returns
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard organisational assets
Lead financial planning initiatives and support senior management with strategic decision-making
Supervise finance team members, providing guidance and training as necessary
Skills
Proven experience in financial management or accounting roles, with a strong understanding of organisational finance operations
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, auditors, and regulatory bodies
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Proficiency in financial software and systems; experience with accounting packages is essential
Knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the organisation's industry
Ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly
Experience or familiarity with commercial driving or delivery driver experience is advantageous for understanding logistical aspects of operations
Capable of heavy lifting when required for operational support or equipment handling
Maintenance knowledge beneficial for overseeing equipment or facility-related tasks
A valid driver's licence is desirable for operational flexibility
