Ad Astra are an Alternative Education Setting working with vulnerable and disengaged children and young adults throughout Yorkshire.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and organised person to join the team as a transport mentor.

This role will be based in York, with regular travel in and around York daily, and further afield throughout Yorkshire occasionally.

The role is Monday to Friday for 39 weeks of the year, as per the academic calendar.

In summary the role comprises of transporting students to Ad Astra each morning, and back home again at the end of each day. There may be some various transportation requirements throughout the day for students, as per the timetable. The employee will be expected to act as a Mentor for students throughout the day between the AM/PM travel. This will involve supporting students in sessions, building relationships and engaging students on a daily basis.

Essential Requirements of the Role:

Cat D1 Driving Licence; Reliable with good time keeping; Experience of driving up to 17 seater.
Desirable Requirements of the Role:

Enhanced DBS; Previous experience of working with children or young people.
Ad Astra are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all students. The successful candidate will be appointed subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS clearance, proof of identification and qualifications, proof of right to work in the UK and satisfactory completion of all required employment checks.
