Minibus Driver
Job Description
Safely transport all service users to and from our Day Centre and authorised locations.
Drive an agreed daily route plan for journeys while remaining flexible to accommodate any special needs or unexpected changes.
Assist service users on and off the vehicle if required, using the steps or tail lift, ensuring wheelchairs are clamped etc. in order to prevent accidents and meet good 'moving and handling' practice.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine vehicle checks and reporting any issues to the Manager/Transport Team Leader promptly.
Communicate effectively with the Centre staff, sharing relevant information about service users' well-being and any notable incidents.
Remain flexible with specified driving routes in and around Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Hackney, and Haringey.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. D1 is preferable. Hold a Drivers License for a minimum of 2 years. Hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required. Prior experience working with individuals with learning disabilities or in a similar caregiving role is a strong advantage. Willing to undertake training as appropriate. Live within 3 mile radius of our Centre in Walthamstow
