Job Purpose:

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic

Minibus Driver & Play Worker

to safely transport children to and from school while also providing high-quality care and engaging play opportunities. The role involves ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of children aged 3-13, both during transport and in a play setting. During school holidays, the role will expand to include organising and supervising school trips and activities.

Key Responsibilities:Driving Duties:

Safely operate a minibus 16 seater to transport children to and from school, adhering to all road safety regulations. Ensure all passengers are seated safely and wearing seatbelts. Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues. Maintain a clean and tidy minibus at all times.

Play Worker Duties:

Supervise children in a play setting, ensuring a safe, fun, and stimulating environment. Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning and development. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure child welfare at all times. Assist with school holiday trips and outings, ensuring children are safe and well-supervised.

Essential Requirements:

Valid UK driving licence with D1 entitlement

(minibus category).

Clean driving record

with no major endorsements. Willingness to

purchase an Enhanced DBS certificate

(if not already held). Experience working with children aged 3-13 in a care or play setting. Ability to engage children with creative and fun activities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, responsible, and caring attitude.

Desirable Skills:

Paediatric First Aid certification. Previous experience as a minibus driver. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Working Conditions:

Term-time split shifts (early morning and afternoon/evening). Full-day shifts during school holidays, including trips and activities. Interaction with children, parents, and school staff.
