We are seeking a Mixed Tax Manager to oversee our organisation's tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will be CTA qualified and possess strong expertise in owner-managed businesses and private clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to focus on advisory work (profit extraction, R&D, IHT planning, business restructuring, EMI schemes, etc) and leading the compliance team, with the opportunity to progress to Senior Tax Manager and Tax Director if willing to take on more business development responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Supporting the partners on tax advisory projects affecting owner-managed businesses
Lead the preparation and submission of the larger corporate tax returns in accordance with relevant legislation, including groups with group relief, R&D, share options, overseas issues, capital allowance analysis for property refurbs, etc.
Identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment of tax strategies with organisational goals.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise senior management and clients on potential impacts.
Manage relationships with external parties, tax authorities, and other professionals as required.
Supervise a team of tax professionals, providing guidance on complex tax issues and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
Skills
Proven experience within the accountancy services sector, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting and tax software including CCH, Xero, QB and Sage and other relevant programmes.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
Exceptional communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Ability to stay updated on current tax legislation and industry best practices. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering solutions that support organisational growth.
