Department Overview Motorola Solutions Mobile Video group manufactures and provides in-car and Body Worn Camera solutions for those in public facing roles across several market sectors including law enforcement, prison services, the public sector including local authorities, health and education as well as security organisations and many more. The go to market team is now expanding by recruiting an experienced Solutions Architect.



This role is primarily UK based, fully remote.

Pre-Sales Mobile Video Solutions Architect will be responsible for the technical sale of compelling mobile video solutions to public safety and commercial accounts using consulting-led selling techniques. Pre-Sales Mobile Video Solutions Architect will serve in an architect capacity with customers and their requirements to develop solutions that are supportable from a technical perspective. The applicant will be responsible for understanding all aspects of complex solutions and top level requirements, and will coordinate with other functional areas, subcontractors, partners, and customers in finalising requirements and addressing technical issues.

In order to propose and implement the most appropriate solutions, Pre-Sales Mobile Video Solutions Architect will review and analyse current technology footprints and its ability to support strategic objectives of solutions for customers.

This includes working with multiple bodies within customer organisations to assist in the improvement of business processes, testing systems to ensure functionality is satisfactory and recommending new systems or product upgrades.

Responsibilities of the Pre-Sales Mobile Video Solutions Architect include:

  • Lead all technical sales activities related to assigned sales opportunities
  • Proactively support the Sales team in progressing and closing sales opportunities by scoping the technical solution required to address the customer requirements, and recommending solutions that optimise value for both the customer and our company
  • Assist with technical queries during the sales process and participate/influence the customer project specification process wherever possible.
  • Coordinate closely with other functions in order to align overall solution design with customers\xe2\x80\x99 business requirements.
  • Secure from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a deal\xe2\x80\x99s \xe2\x80\x9ctechnical close.\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Documenting designs and preparing proposal material including system descriptions and bill-of-materials
  • Provides coaching and professional development to other Motorola Solutions team members in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.
  • Provide and schedule guidance and product training to customers
  • Continuously keep up-to-date with industry technology developments
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, meetings, seminars, etc to develop business networking and references
  • Ability to initiate and build solid working relationships and to be self-motivated, and operate with minimal supervision
Basic Requirements

Whilst this is a primarily pre-sale role, it is expected that suitable candidates will have several years of experience in the detailed design and deployment of complex IT solutions in order to have credibility with potential customers.

The following skills are considered essential:
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience, including 2 or more years in a sales engineering type role
  • Good understanding of networking including switches, firewalls and trouble-shooting
  • Proven ability to implement multi-site systems comprising networked elements
  • Strong Microsoft Windows Server skills
  • Good working knowledge of the latest IT and IP networking technologies
  • Storage fundamentals (including Cloud)
  • Good working knowledge of the software integration technologies
  • Good working knowledge of PC and other hardware troubleshooting skills
Education:
  • Bachelor degree and/or a combination of education and experience in engineering or information systems
