We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our team, based in Leith, Newhaven at Bonnington House Nursery. We are a large 103 place nursery, with lovely playrooms and garden areas, taking children from 3 months old.

We are recruiting for Modern Apprentices, who are looking to begin their qualification in childcare whilst getting experience within the nursery. For this role, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic with a passion to learn, and ready to get messy with the children.

The ideal candidates will be adaptable, outgoing and thrive on new challenges.

Any applicants invited for interviews will be required to comply with company recruitment policies and will take part in both a formal interview, then invited along to a working interview allowing you to meet the staff and children and get a feel for the nursery environment.

Certificates of any relevant qualifications will be brought along during interview process. A full PVG disclosure check will be carried out on all successful applicants prior to starting. Within your first three months you will also be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC.)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Apprentice to join our team. As an Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and learn from experienced professionals in the industry. This position is ideal for individuals who are looking to kickstart their career and develop a strong foundation in their chosen field.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors
- Learn and apply industry-specific skills and techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients
- Provide excellent customer service, including phone etiquette and upselling opportunities
- Collaborate with colleagues to analyze data and identify areas for improvement
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment

Experience:
- No prior experience required; this is an entry-level position
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in English is required; fluency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze information accurately
