Job Title: Modern Languages Administrative and IT Technician



Location: Marlborough



Hours of work: 21 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 33 weeks per year



Salary: 12,409 per annum (20,681 pro rata)

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised individual to join our team as a Modern Languages Administrative and IT Technician in Marlborough. This role will involve providing administrative support to the Modern Languages department, as well as assisting with IT related tasks.



Responsibilities:



Plan and manage logistics for internal and external events, including room bookings, catering, venue setup, and AV coordination. Coordinate departmental large-scale events Produce publicity materials, such as event posters and programs, provide technical AV support on the day, and capture event photography. Liaise with the marketing department on post-event coverage.

Operational & Budget Management



Support budget planning alongside the Head of Department. Process bulk stationery orders and ensure ongoing inventory management. Manage inventory and distribution of classroom and office supplies within the department. Liaise with the Estates department for building maintenance and improvement projects. Carry out administrative day-to-day office duties.

Communications & Social Media Management



Develop and manage departmental social media channels, including developing a Modern Languages Instagram account. Create engaging content and collaborate with the marketing department to highlight departmental activities and events.

IT Support & Equipment Management



Oversee and maintain departmental technology, including printers, classroom technology, departmental and exam iPads, voice recorders, and other equipment. Liaise with the IT department to anticipate and establish streamlined processes for classroom and exam setups, optimising operational efficiency. Provide prompt IT support to beaks and oral assistants. Deliver IT support during internal and public examinations, ensuring accurate setup and troubleshooting of listening tracks and technical equipment. Provide training and IT support to new members of ML department.

Resources & Digital Platform Management



Manage departmental online subscriptions, pupil account setups, and invoicing. Assist with pupils' recharges. Manage the digitisation and maintenance of departmental multimedia resources. Administer Planet eStream for film digitisation and TV program recordings. Maintain and update digital signage with event promotions and departmental showcases.

Exam & Assessment Coordination



Manage the technical setup for oral and listening exams. Coordinate exam room logistics, including signage, equipment setup, and guest examiner support. Manage the upload of examination files to exam board systems.

Fire Safety & Admissions Support



Conduct weekly fire safety checks. Assist the Fire Marshal during fire drills.


Requirements:



A high level of organisational and time management skills Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with educational software and applications Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience in an educational or administrative role is preferred
