Job Description

We're now looking for a Mortgage Manager to take ownership of sales performance, adviser productivity, and revenue growth across the business.

This is not a corporate management role.

And it's not a founder role either.

It's for someone who wants the responsibility and influence of running a high-performance sales function, without carrying the personal financial, regulatory, or operational risk of owning the brokerage.

You'll be responsible for leading and improving performance across our advisers (employed and self-employed), driving revenue, increasing protection penetration, developing introducer relationships, and strengthening lender partnerships.

You will run the sales engine day to day.

The founder will focus on strategy and direction. You focus on execution, standards, momentum, and results.

This role requires autonomy, judgement, and the ability to balance people leadership with commercial accountability.

Key Responsibilities



Sales Performance & Revenue Growth

Own performance across leads, appointments, conversions, and completions Increase adviser productivity and average case values (with location fairness) Drive protection penetration (target: 75% residential / 50% buy-to-let) Improve total revenue per client through better process and coaching
Adviser Leadership & Accountability

Lead, coach and challenge advisers to perform at a higher level Run observations, feedback sessions, and performance conversations Support advisers in developing their business plans and income growth Hold standards firmly while remaining people-led and fair
Introducer & Relationship Growth

Re-engage existing introducers (accountants, estate agents, IFAs) Build new local introducer relationships that generate actual leads and revenue Track introducer performance and consistency, not just sign-ups
Lender Relationship Management

Build strong working relationships with key lenders and BDMs Improve case placement outcomes, turnaround times, and underwriting support Position Active Mortgages as a credible, professional, high-volume partner
Recruitment & Team Development

Support recruitment and onboarding of advisers as the business grows Help create a culture of ownership, performance, and follow-through

What We're Looking For



CeMAP qualified (essential) Strong background in mortgage advising with leadership or management experience Proven ability to improve sales performance inside a regulated environment Confident leading people, including self-employed advisers Commercially aware, comfortable with numbers, KPIs, and accountability Structured enough to follow process and complete what you start People-led, but not conflict-avoidant
You should enjoy building performance inside a business, not owning the business itself.

Salary & Incentives



Base salary: 50,000 OTE: 75,000 Quarterly bonus linked to profit uplift Clear progression as the business grows
