We are looking for a

Motor Vehicle Technician

to join our small but growing team in

Leeds, LS10 1QP

. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for maintaining and repairing vehicles of all ages. This role requires hands-on experience with various tools and equipment. As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our clients' vehicles.

We are a MINI R53 specialist , we also run under our Yorkshire Repair Garage brand covering all makes and models of vehicles for both trade and public work. We also sell vehicles after they have been through preparation in house. Our repairs include but are not restricted to all serviceable components, clutches, gearboxes, timing belts, chains, electrics, and restorations of road and race vehicles that will be documented on our YouTube Channel.

This would potentially suite a Motor Vehicle Technician that is keen to work on both regular vehicles, specialised vehicles, projects, get out of the workshop and go out into the field and collect stock vehicles. Our vehicle sales are not traditional, we are happy to take risks with what we buy and get involved in vehicles no other car dealership usually would.

Duties

and Skills



Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks. Assemble components and systems according to schematics and manufacturer specifications. Conduct equipment repairs, troubleshooting issues to identify necessary solutions. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used during repairs. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle issues and repair options. Assist in heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in vehicle technology to enhance skills and knowledge. Proven successful experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician. Hardworking and trustworthy. Have a great attention to detail. Willing to work to best practice standards always. A good team player with initiative to work alone. Able to always work safely and adhere to Health and Safety. Able to always keep your workspace tidy. Be knowledgeable and understand how to complete paperwork to high standards, for example, vehicle job sheets, pre-delivery inspection sheets. Can work well under pressure, it will be your technical ability that will help you overcome any challenge that is thrown your way. Be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and have great communication skills to speak to team members, customers, stakeholders, suppliers and others. Be able to think on your feet. We trust our mechanics to make the best decisions for our customers. You'll be dealing with a variety of fixes, fixing all kinds of problems, and meeting different people every day. Be willing to feature on our YouTube channel and all other forms of social media on a regular basis as we grow, this will provide opportunities you would never receive in a regular 9-5pm main dealer or garage. Hold a full UK and clean driving licence. Be able to perform successful vehicle repair and maintenance to a variety of vehicles including 20+ year old vehicles with seized components and be able think outside of the box to successfully repair older vehicles. Be physically strong and capable of performing successful vehicle repairs and maintenance on older vehicles, and all other vehicles. Be able to perform vehicle diagnostics to a variety of vehicles to identify faults. Preferably be able to perform vehicle modifications such as induction kits and intercoolers. This is not an exhaustive list of modifications we carry out for our customers. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for vehicle maintenance and repair. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues accurately. Experience in equipment repair, demonstrating problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with reading schematics for assembly and repair tasks. Ability to weld when necessary, contributing to more complex repairs would be preferred but not essential. Excellent customer service skills, ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the demands of the job.
